Principal's Message

Hello Parents!!
This week we have a super fun event happening in our school: Our annual Jog-a-Thon fundraiser is happening this Thursday! This fun event brings our school community together and helps raise important funds for our students. If you can spare a little time away from work, we would love to have your help as volunteer or even just jog a few laps with your child to show your support and have fun!  You do need to have a background check on file in order to be on campus for this event.  If you don't have one or are not sure, call the office right away, and Richelle or Ana will be happy to help you.  We'd love to see you there.
If you cannot attend in person, it would be so helpful if you CAN have your child return the donation envelop (if you cannot find it, anything will do).  Any amount, no matter the size, is super helpful and appreciated to help us reach our goals for more PE and music equipment and saving for a school-wide art project.
For more details on the event, please see the information below. We can’t wait to see everyone there, supporting a great cause while having a blast!
Thank you for your continued support!

The Families for Everson Jog-A-Thon will be held this week on THURSDAY.  Jog-a-thon fundraising envelope and a volunteer sign up forms were sent home last week. The details about the jog-a-thon and fundraising information are listed on the envelope. Exciting this year is a new VENMO donation option!  Please return the envelope with any money raised in your child’s backpack the day of the jog-a-thon, Thursday September 26.
Remember, to volunteer or to come watch, you need to have an approved Volunteer Background check completed.  If you are not sure if you have one, please call Ana in the office.

Thank you for your help in achieving 100% student participation!

Fall Conferences Are Coming!!

We are excited for the upcoming opportunity to meet with you and your child for Parent/Teacher/Student conferences that run from Oct. 8 - 10.

On Wednesday 9/25 at 6 pm, all of the sign-up posts will come out for all classes. Please use the ParentSquare post from your child's teacher to sign up for days and times that work best for you. Families requiring interpretation will have been pre-scheduled.  Please look on ParentSquare in the weeks to come for more information about what to expect at this Fall's conferences.

Meet Our New EES Staff

Hello there! My name is Alison Sokol and I am thrilled to be teaching music this year at Everson Elementary. I love getting to share in the joy of music with students through movement, singing, playing instruments, creating, and exploring. I was born and raised in Lynden (graduated from Lynden High School), but my family and I have been living in Everson the past few years and have loved this community that we live in. I started teaching music in 2013 after getting my bachelor’s degree in elementary education and music education from Central Washington University. In my free time I enjoy hiking, long walks, camping, reading, playing all the games, puzzles, gardening, pickleball, and spending time with my family of four (five if you count our dog Lucy). I’ve been enjoying getting to know each student at Everson and look forward to a year of music making with each of them! Please feel free to reach out to me any time via Parentsquare or email (alison.sokol@nv.k12.wa.us).
