SUN BUCKS- SUMMER EBT

SUMMER EBT CARDS are Back again this Summer!

In the summer of 2025, Washington State will again be sending out Summer EBT, “SUN Bucks”, the new grocery benefit program that provides families $120 for each ELIGIBLE school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out.  This benefit will be on an EBT card and mailed to the address on file with the school district (Make sure you address with us is current).

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Children who live in a household that already receives assistance program benefits (SNAP, TANF, FDPIR), OR
  • Child attends a school that operates the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program, AND
  • Is directly certified for free and reduced-price school meals, OR
  • Submits a qualifying Free- Reduce Application: Application are available at all NV School main offices OR you can print a copy from our Food Service webpage (below) OR complete the foodservice Meal Application through your Skyward Family Access.

All NV students have access to meals at no cost during the school day, but only students who qualify for free/ reduced meal status will receive the SUN BUCKS benefit.

*Directly Certified means students are automatically approved for Free & Reduced Meal status from the State database, which is based on SNAP, TANF, FOSTER, MIGRANT, or MEDICARE recipients. OR students qualify as Migrant, McKinney-Vento, or Foster Children through an NV support liaison. 

  • Directly Certified students aren't required and shouldn't fill out a CNEEB
  • Students who are directly certified with Free & Reduced Meal status will receive a Meal Status approval letter
